I met Katie back in the day when we used to work in a bar in the city together, pre-COVID when kids could party all night long. Far gone are those days, and now she is all grown up, a mum and marrying the man of her dreams. When she reached out to me to photograph her wedding in Tamworth, I was not only excited to travel out there but to reconnect with her after almost 15 years!
It happened that there had been terrible droughts in Tamworth leading up to the wedding day without a drop of rain for months. With the wedding being on Gus’ parents property, his dad had made the special effort to water just a small area where there would be some green grass for the wedding day. A little oasis of green amongst hills of dry earth. Of course, as luck would have it, it rained on their wedding day. There was nothing to do but embrace and enjoy it!
